After our excitement of spotting that Louis Theroux had joined Instagram earlier this year, the award-winning documentary maker has finally shared his first post to the platform - and it's just as good as we'd hoped.
The account, @officiallouistheroux, originally popped up in January, although its lack of posts and blue tick still put doubt in fans' minds over whether it was actually him.
But on Saturday, Louis confirmed that the account was the real deal with a snap of him taken at the BAFTAs, where he won best factual series with Altered States. If Louis' Twitter account is anything to go by, his Instagram will be a 'must follow' too.
"Hello Instagram! This really is me, and this really is to be my official Instagram account. I'm new to this (Instagram), so please indulge me with your patience. Bw, Louis," the beloved filmmaker shared alongside the snap of him sprinkling confetti into the camera.
"Finally we will get the quality content we deserve on this platform," enthused one follower. While another echoed: "Louis Theroux has Instagram omfg amazing."
His first post raked in over 7,000 likes and Louis already boasts 20,000 followers. His bio reads: "This is the official Instagram account of documentary-maker Louis Theroux."
And it seems like Louis is clearly getting the hang of Instagram as he's already shared his second post on Sunday in which he is posing with a copy of his newspaper of choice.
"Thanks everyone for the welcome! For the blue tick sceptics - steps to verification are underway," he shared, easing the doubt of fans concerned he had no blue tick still.
The national treasure continued: "In the meantime - to reassure you that it is indeed me - here I am, standing before you all, wishing you a happy Sunday (with a copy of today's paper)."
Now we just need David Attenborough to join Instagram and our following list will be well and truly complete.
