Kristen Bell has revealed she believes that Disney's Snow Whiteand the Seven Dwarfs sends the wrong message to young children.

For anyone who's not familiar with the children's fairytale, Snow White follows a princess who runs from her murderous stepmother and shelters with seven dwarfs, taking on the role of doing all their cooking and cleaning.

However, the evil queen returns under an alias and poisons Snow White with an apple, leading her to fall into a death-like sleep that can only be broken by a kiss from a prince.

Obviously, the prince doesn't ask for consent from the sleeping Princess before he smacks the lips on her, which is why Kristen realised she has a problem with the fairytale after reading it to her young children.

The Veronica Mars star told Parents how she needed to make her children understand that the prince should've asked for consent from Snow White before kissing her.

"Don't you think that it's weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?" she asked five-year-old Lincoln and three-year-old Delta. "Because you cannot kiss someone if they're sleeping."

Kristen also made sure her children knew that Snow White should've never taken the apple from the mysterious stranger in the first place.

"Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask 'Don't you think it's weird that Snow White didn't ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got the apple?" she continued.

"I say 'I would never take food from a stranger, would you?' And my kids are like 'No!' And I'm like 'Okay, I'm doing something right.'"

However, not everyone agreed with Kristen's sentiment, with one man taking to Twitter to argue: "Wow misinterpreted fairy tale. Wasn't it The Prince was the saviour of Snow White kissing her without malicious intent? @IMKristenBell must've lost track of the story. [sic]

"It's wasn't a stolen or molested kiss. Is this another attack on the men? Everything offends everyone."
