Kate and Rio Ferdinand have revealed they are expecting a baby boy.

The couple revealed the news to fans after holding a gender reveal party at their home in Bromley with friends and family.

Sharing photos of Rio's children - Tia, nine, Tate, 12, and Lorenz, 14 - popping a balloon to reveal blue confetti, Kate, 29, joked: "It's a boy, me and Tia are outnumbered."

Similarly over on his own Instagram, Rio, 41, posted: "It's a BOY!!! The Boys ruling this house #love."

Kate and Rio tied the knot at a lavish ceremony in Turkey in October 2019 after two and a half years of dating.

The couple broke the exciting news of Kate's pregnancy to fans in June by sharing an adorable video of the moment they told Rio's three children.

In the clip, doting step-mum Kate starts by passing over a photo album with pictures of them all as babies, and the family can be seen reflecting on the images.

After a good old natter about who looks like who, and some banter about family arguments, Tate turns the page, and reads a message.

It says: "Now for the next chapter... Guess what?"

Of course, it doesn't take the kids long to put two and two together and erupt with happiness.

At the end of the video, Tia jumps and chants for a "sister, sister!" - meaning the youngest of the brood will no doubt be slightly disappointed she's isn't getting a mini me!

Kate has recently been praised for talking openly about her pregnancy struggles.

Sharing an image in her and Rio's home gym, she revealed she had been "exhausted" and explained why she hadn't been on social media much.

"I've been pretty quiet on here recently. Honestly, I've just been so exhausted I don't know wether I'm coming or going," wrote Kate.

"How I've been feeling has been changing daily so I've found it hard to share anything because I don't really know how I feel myself... any other pregnant women feeling the same? Or am I losing my mind?"

Since posting her pregnancy updates, Kate has received heaps of support from followers, with one writing: "Such an inspiration to women out there!"

While another said: "Totally normal feelings! I couldn't do anything from about 8-12 weeks as I was wiped out and had the worst headaches."
