What could be a better image than Dot Branning and Lady Gaga hitting the town and having a dance together? Eastenders star June Brown, who has played Dot for more than 30 years, revealed recently that it very nearly happened.
June, aged 92, met Lady Gaga, 33, in 2013 when they both appeared on The Graham Norton Show together. The pair hit it off, and Brown revealed to The Daily Star that Gaga invited her to hang out at a nightclub.

June told The Daily Star that Gaga was "so funny, intelligent and down to earth, but when she went in front of the press, you could see her put the Gaga persona on".

After spotting Brown hanging out on her own, Gaga allegedly "came back, dropped the whole Gaga thing and invited me to a nightclub". Brown, however, was far too busy even for Gaga, and couldn't make it - but she did think Gaga was "a charming and talented girl."

Style icon Gaga was impressed with June's style, saying to her: "I am a really big fan of yours. You are so fabulously dressed. I am honoured to be sitting next to you". She then picked up June's wine glass and added, "I want to drink from your cup to see what those genes are."
Earlier this month, June revealed that she was refusing to give up booze and cigarettes, saying that the secret to a long life is "doing what you damn well please".
She told The Mirror: "I'm going to die of something fairly soon, so why not enjoy myself? I love red wine and also dark chocolate". While we can't recommend June's diet plan, we have to applaud her positive attitude to life at 92.

The pair later posed for a photo together with Gaga holding June's autobiography. Hopefully the re-upped interest in the friendship of Gaga and Dot Branning will lead that nightclubbing date to finally come together, after all.
