Kate Wright and Rio Ferdinand tied the knot at the weekend after two years of dating - and their wedding was *everything*.

The former Only Way Is Essex star, 27, and the ex-professional footballer, 40, exchanged their vows at the stunning D Maris Bay hotel resort in Maramis, Turkey - throwing a plush three day celebration.

The five-star venue is located on a hill-top, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sandy beaches below, and rooms costing anywhere from just under £400 to a whopping £5,322.

The bash began last Thursday with a beach-side brunch for their 150 guests, hosted by none other than celebrity chef and TV sensation Salt Bae at his Nusr-Et Steakhouse.

Guests were then given some time to relax in the sun before the ceremony the next day.

On Friday 27th September, the showbiz couple then wed on the picturesque Datça Peninsula in south-west Turkey, and their nuptials were officiated by the Mayor of Marmaris himself - Mehmet Oktay.

Rio is said to have worn sunglasses to conceal his tears as he looked at Kate walking down the aisle accompanied by his children, Lorenz, 13, Tate, ten, and eight year old Tia - who was Maid Of Honour.

"I cried as soon as the day started," Rio told OK! magazine, who joined them at the ceremony, while Kate said the moment was "everything [she] had imagined it to be".

The football pundit added: "Seeing Tia walk up the aisle before Kate set me off. It was just so emotional. There was just no going back on the emotion, that's why I had to keep my shades on!

"Seeing Tate and Lorenz walk Kate down the aisle was particularly poignant and we wouldn't have wanted to do it any other way. They were so proud and they couldn't wait to do that, they felt important."

Kate and Rio revealed they decided instantly that the kids would have key roles in the wedding, with the former Manchester United pro claiming that Kate's adamance was a tribute to her character.

And he'd planned a special treat for his new wife too, as he hired R & B singer Ashanti to perform at the big day, seeing as Kate is a massive fan of hers.

Beaming for a photograph moments after saying their "I do's," Rio looked smart in a dark three-piece suit and brogues.

Meanwhile, Kate sported a gorgeous figure-hugging ivory fishtail gown with lace and diamanté detailing.

The dress had a huge train and her outfit was completed with a plush, floor-length veil.

While Kate looked absolutely flawless on her big day, her ceremony dress was actually pulled together in a week, as she'd chosen to scrap her first choice because it "wasn't made right".

"I had been having a dress made since January but it all went wrong and it just wasn't made right. A week before we flew to Turkey, I still didn't have a dress. it was a total nightmare and I was stressed!," she said.

Luckily, Kate actually ended up preferring her new dress, made by The Wedding Club, to the original.

After the ceremony - which was rumoured to be attended by 180 footie friends, family members and only one TOWIE star - the couple held a flashy drinks reception on the Friday afternoon.

The couple hired out an ocean facing pool at the lavish resort

They then went on to hold a "boisterous" pool-party which went on until the Saturday, closing off one of the resort's best ocean-view pools to all other guests.

Champagne and free booze was said to be on tap all day, while guests at the hotel heard music and cheering throughout the day.

An un-named guest told Mail Online: "It was quite a party. You could hear the music and the cheering throughout the hotel. The whole pool area had been sealed off, even for us.

"There was a lot of champagne and other drink flowing. It was a very boisterous affair and looked like great fun. You could feel the love in the air for the couple and that's very beautiful."

While guests had their phones taken off them on arrival to keep things private, TOWIE's Lydia Bright is said to have been in attendance.

It is not known which famous footie stars also turned up to support Rio.

The wedding comes after the football pundit lost his first wife of six years Rebecca Ellison to breast cancer in 2015.

Rio and Kate started dating a year later, and she has since been a support both to him and his children.

Discussing his second chance at love, Rio gushed after his wedding: "Kate was sent to us after everything we've been through - it was fate".

Congratulations to the Ferdinands!
