David Schwimmer Sends Hilarious Response To Blackpool Police Searching For His Lookalike
If you've been on any form of social media in the past couple of days, you'll probably be aware that Blackpool Police are currently on the lookout for a thief that looks a lot like Ross Geller from Friends.
The post went viral after avid Friends fans rushed to point out the likeness, prompting the police force to respond: "Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses.
"We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way."
But, when David Schwimmer heard the news he'd been associated with a thief who stole a crate of beer in Blackpool, the actor decided to release some hilarious footage to prove he wasn't guilty.
"Officers, I swear it wasn't me," he tweeted. "As you can see, I was in New York.
"To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation #ItWasntMe."

In Blackpool Police's original Facebook post, they shared a still from CCTV footage, writing: "Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the 20th September.
"If you know who this is, please email [email protected]quoting log LC-20180920-0670. Thank you for your help."
Unsurprisingly, the comments section was flooded with amused Friends fans, commenting the likes of "Could be HE anymore like Ross?" and "Clearly stole the cans when the security guard was ON A BREAK!!"
One hilarious fan even came up with a special Friends episode titled: "The One Where Ross Brings All The Beers."
We love the internet.
