Daisy May Cooper's love affair with her sea captain (aka a scammer she is hilariously trolling on Instagram) has become the most compelling piece of romance since Romeo and Juliet.
But things took a sour turn at the weekend when the This Country creator was informed her catfish beau had been messaging other women behind her back.

Girl code was in full force when TV presenter Kate Thornton shared screenshots - showing the slippery sea captain trying his luck in her DMs - with the actress, 34.

The mystery man - also known as Jon - wrote to the former X Factor host, 47, saying: "Hi and how are you? You have a very nice picture on you profile am new here on this site and I like to meet you and get together as friend I hope this okay please do reply."
Incidentally, this was the exact same opening line as he used on Daisy. Have you no shame, sea captain?

Daisy shared the betrayal with her followers, who have been following along with the drama avidly, fuming: "Absolute two timing b*****d sea captain has been fishing in different waters and has just slid into @thekatethornton dms.
"Little does he know that there is such thing as 'girl code' and us b****es got each others backs. What a horny old sea urchin."
Kate replied in the comments: "Dirty Jon! What a cad! What a rotten sea dog! But I've got your back, we girls stick together.
"He clearly has a penchant for ladies from the Cotswolds.

What's worse, the love rat even had the audacity to message Daisy with "hello dear" the very next day, to which she replied by calling him out for his cheating: "Kate Thornton ring any bells?"

Daisy's 'love story' with Jon the sea captain has now become so infamous that it has made it onto her Wikipedia page, and taken the internet by storm.
It began when Jon slid into Daisy's DMs earlier this month with the same message he used on Kate.
After that, things began to escalate somewhat with the sea captain revealing some top-secret info about himself, such as that he is from 'Georgetown, USA,' but is currently "deployed to Syria" for an undercover mission.
As was expected, the Insta scammer soon began asking the actress to wire him large amounts of money to pay for his "medical bills" from war.

Of course, the actress gave what she got and kept her 487,000 followers entertained with some rather extra replies, including selfies with watermelons and pretending she was on a plane to Syria to meet him.
His cheeky messages to Kate are just the latest twist in this tale, but we have a feeling this isn't the last of the sea captain...
