One weather presenter was taken aback by the appearance of special guest Chris Hemsworth during her life broadcast yesterday.

Aussie actor and star of Extraction and Thor Chris Hemsworth casually strolled into the background of presenter Lauren Phillips's weather report for the Weekend Today programme and proceeded to read the forecast on screen.

Take a look at the hilarious moment below:

The clip shows Lauren broadcasting in a field in Scone, New South Wales, when the Marvel actor walks into shot and comes over to her.

"What are you doing?" the star asks Lauren as he takes the mic from her.

"We're presenting the weather for the Today show," she replies.

Cut to studio hosts Richard Wilkins and Rebecca Maddern in actual shock.

"Wanna help me out?" asks Lauren.

"Yeah," Chris replies.

The star then reads the weather report, which includes "possible showers" in Cairns, "partly cloudy" reports in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, "sunny" moments in Townsville and "a shower or two" on the Sunshine Coast.

"Maybe get a raincoat ready there," he quips.

After reading the weather report, Chris then gave a shoutout to residents of Melbourne, who are currently in lockdown.

"Hello to all my friends in Melbourne. I am a Victorian. But that rain, get your brollies out I reckon," he said.

Lauren was impressed by the actor's presenting skills, going as far as to say: "You've made my job look very easy there, you might just take over."

"No, I think you're doing fantastic," he replies.

Asked what he was doing in the area, Chris said that he was there visiting Aussie Ark and WildArk, two conservation organisations in the area "who are doing some amazing conservation work in protecting Australia's ecosystems," he added.

Sounds good to us! Now is there any way we can get him presenting the weather on UK screens?
