Great British Bake Off champion Candice Brown has secretly got married to her fiance Liam Macaulay in a romantic chateau in France.

The 33-year-old tied the knot in a small ceremony, surrounded by family and friends while wearing a stunning pink dress, inspired by Jennifer Lawrence.

Before her wedding, Candice told Hello! magazine: "We know where, we know when [we're getting married], it's just a case of going to try on some dresses.

"Jennifer Lawrence's dress when she fell off the stairs at the Oscars... I love that dress, I love it. But I don't know, they say you have to try things on so I could be in a sparkly leotard!"

Just like in any girls wedding dream, Candice and Liam were joined in their wedding car by their beloved pet dogs, Dennis the pug and Sybil the Pomeranian, who the newly-weds describe as their 'babies'.

Confirming the news of their marriage, Candice took to Twitter to tell fans: "Got married didn't we. Yes we did! Actually happened."

The baking star and author certainly prepared for her big day in style as she enjoyed two luxury hen dos, including a trip to Las Vegas in the summer.

However, Candice was met with a barrage of online trolls when she was snapped in a bikini by the side of the pool.

She later appeared on ITV's Lorraine where she revealed she had broken down as a result of people's cruel comments.

"I didn't ask for those pictures to be taken of me on holiday, neither did my girls, one of which has just had a baby," she said, holding back tears.

"But the onslaught from that was just horrendous and as a teacher teaching secondary schools, I spent nearly ten years trying to teach students 'you're OK as you are. Everyone's different, everyone's a different shape, size, everything.' And then to be having to justify myself.

"I'm having to justify myself not being pregnant. Because I didn't breathe in?

"They don't know what has happened in my private life, our private life, I don't know when it ever became OK for someone or anybody to say publicly 'are you pregnant, you should be ashamed of yourself, you're drinking when you're pregnant'."
