Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have repeatedly called time on their relationship after just five months together.

A source revealed the couple split at the weekend "with both parties acknowledging that it simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off," TMZ reports.

They added that Ariana and Pete still love each other but "things are over romantically" between them.

Other sources claim that it was Ariana who ended their relationship after an extremely tough couple of years.

After the horrific terror attack at her concert in Manchester, leaving 22 of her fans dead, Ariana recently faced the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller.

The God Is A Woman singer told fans how she'd "been through hell" and it's thought she will now take a break to take some time to look after herself.

Ariana and Pete first started dating in May, after Ariana split from her late ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller and within weeks they were engaged and moved into a $16 million apartment in New York.

The couple officially confirmed their relationship on 16th June when Pete uploaded a black and white snap of the pair holding hands with a big shiny engagement ring clearly visible on Ariana's hand.

Along with the shock post, he wrote: "U know what you'd dream it be like? It's better than that."

However, last week the Saturday Night Live comedian sparked rumours that there was problems within their relationship when he got his Ariana bunny ear tattoo covered up - although they denied this at the time.

Mac Miller, who Ariana dated for two years, died of a suspected overdose on 7th September.

The understandably heartbroken popstar has hinted at struggling to cope with his death on social media, tweeting: "Can I pls have one okay day. Just one. Pls. I'm so tired pls."

She also deleted a tweet that said: "Jus wake me up when I'm supposed to sing or whatever. peace... Nothing will ever b ok...dats the truth. Luv u."
