Amy Schumer has responded to claims she named her son 'Genital' on purpose.
The actress, 38 and her husband Chris Fischer, welcomed their baby son last May and decided to name him Gene Attell Fischer.

But she later changed his middle name to David after realising how...err.. rude his full name sounded.
Now, speaking to Howard Stern, the mum-of-one revealed that some people actually thought the baby name blunder was nothing more than an elaborate gag.
As she introduced the TV legend to Gene during a video chat, Stern couldn't help but ask about the name change.

To which Amy replied: "Oh my God, don't tell him," and covered his ears.
"We're not telling him. It's so embarrassing", she joked.
Explaining how it took her and Chris a month to realise the issue, Amy said: "You know, you're like, the new parents and you're just tired and in ecstasy. And then - I don't know if some troll on the internet or somebody... I read it, and I was like, oh my God!

"You're going 'Gene Attell', it just - me, a filthy person - it never dawned on me.
"All the blood rushed to my head."
Amy added: "And Chris' last name is Fischer, so it's Genital Fissure!"
If this wasn't a pre-planned joke, it sure has the makings of one!

When Stern suggested Amy was "going for a laugh," she vehemently denied it, and insisted the incident was simply "the first of many failures".
"Everybody kind of gave me credit, and I was just like, 'No, that is just a huge f*ck-up'," she laughed.
Little Gene's middle name was originally Attell in tribute to comedian pal, David Attell.

However, the actress' dad is also called David, so the name change was a perfect alternative to honour them both.
Baby Gene will celebrate his first birthday next month, on 6th May, which also coincides with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son, Archie's birthday.
We can't wait for him to find out about this little mishap when he's older!
