Love Island is just a few hours away, and the hot new singles are preparing for their first coupling up of the series.

After an 18-month break due to Coronavirus, we're all desperate to hear those words 'I got a text!' once again. And the wait is over.

From a Brexit policy maker to an England cricket player, here is the original lineup of Love Island 2021.

Sharon Gaffka, 21, Oxford

Sharon Gaffka. ove Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Sharon Gaffka is a civil servant who has worked on Brexit policy and assisted the Department Of Health at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, which means she's not only bringing beauty but also brains to the table.

She says: "Because of COVID and the lockdown, I'm the only single one in my friendship group.

"They're either married or planning on getting married. I don't want to be the only one in the group chat that is single anymore!"

Original Islanders

Eleven sexy singles form this year's original cast - the ones who are in the Villa from day one. But not everyone will see the finale and more Islanders will be joining them along the way.

Aaron Francis, 24, London

Aaron Francis. ove Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Aaron Francis is a luxury events host which means he is no stranger to a party.

He says fame is nothing new to him, having worked on star-studded events including Princess Beatrice and Eugenie's weddings.

"In my job you meet a lot of famous people... unless you're Beyonce, I'm not really interested," he jokes.

On his hunt for love, he adds: "I need someone that is passionate about what they are doing - from scientist to anything - you can tell when someone is speaking about something and they are actually smiling while they are talking. I love that."

Here's hoping his dream girl enters the villa.

Liberty Poole, 21, Birmingham

Liberty Poole. ove Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

"I've never had that nice, happy relationship so I think it will be nice and something for me to experience," said waitress and marketing student Liberty.

"Obviously I want the best summer ever because we have been in lockdown for a year so it would be nice to go away and enjoy the sun and make friends as well. I'm excited, I'm a bit of a social butterfly so I love to meet new people. I'm a girls' girl as well so I can't wait for the girly friendships. It's going to be fun!"

Her type on paper is "tall, alpha male, confident, a cheeky chappy sort of guy," she said.

"But obviously that's always usually combined with player types, which is where I go wrong. So I am trying to change my ways and go for more of a nicer guy that is going to treat me right."

Hugo Hammond, 24, Hampshire

Hugo Hammond. ove Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Watch out Islanders, school's out and secondary school PE teacher Hugo is looking for love.

"With the current climate, it's been really hard to get back into dating," said Hugo. "I saw it [Love Island] as an opportunity to have an amazing fun summer and put myself back out there."

There's more to this PE teacher than meets the eye though. After being born with clubfoot and undergoing several operations, Hugo has embraced his disability and has travelled all over the world playing cricket for the England Physical Disability squad.

Shannon Singh, 22, Fife

Shannon Singh. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. (
ITV)

Model Shannon is looking to meet "an exciting hunk" in the villa this June.

Shannon used to be a glamour model and has since moved onto Instagram and YouTube. She can also DJ.

I don't feed off looks, I feed off energy," she said, talking about her ideal guy. "I need someone with personality. Just someone I can have fun with."

"I'm a party girl, I love going out, I'm very social," she added. "For me it's quite hard to find people who are genuine and looking for what you're looking for. I'm not just going to go with anyone because they're convenient. I need to make sure they're for me.

"Looks - obviously, they've got to be handsome, but if he's a handsome hunk but it's like talking to a brick wall and I'd rather watch paint dry, it's not going to be great."

Jake Cornish, 24, Weston-super-Mare

Jake Cornish. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Water engineer Jake was in a relationship for seven years, until the pandemic - we all know how much of a strain lockdown has put on love this year.

But now, he's "ready to take the opportunity by the horns and go for it."

With his celebrity crush being Billie Faiers, his type on paper is blondes. But, he says he's looking for something deeper than looks.

"Looks wise, always gone for blondes. But for me, the main thing is having respect and having good fun, and someone who will be loyal to you. I've had messages from girls that have got boyfriends and husbands. This is why I don't trust anyone. Someone who is loyal really. But when I'm single, I like having a good time!"

Kaz Kamwi, 26, Essex

Kaz Kamwi. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Fashion blogger Kaz is ready to be in a relationship.

The worst date she's ever been on was with a guy who made her pay for the meal, while he ate for free because he was a mystery reviewer - wow.

She describes herself as "fun, dramatic, spontaneous. Friendly as well. Light-hearted. Life is a party - I'm not the mum in the group, my friends are not looking at me to look after them!"

Hopefully the fun-loving Kaz will find a gentleman in the villa.

Brad McClelland, 26, Northumberland

Brad McClelland. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

"I want to date face-to-face, I like meeting people. I'm easy going, laid back," said labourer Brad. "Who wouldn't want to be in a nice villa in a hot country for a while?" After this year? We'd have to agree.

Having been single for two years and never been on a date (?!) Brad, who lives with his grandma, is ready for a summer of love.

His type on paper would be "Sommer Ray from Instagram. Zara McDermott, she's a good-looking lass. Or Megan Fox," he said.

Chloe Burrows, 25, Bicester

Chloe Burrows. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Financial services marketing executive, Chloe, admitted she's been in "awful situationships" in the past and hopes Love Island will bring her some better luck.

Describing herself, the 25-year-old said she's "always the funny one in a situation... always try and make everyone laugh." It sounds like she'll be a good one to break the ice when the drama starts in the villa.

Talking about her ideal catch, Chloe said he's got to have a good build, but also needs to be "really funny and caring and will do nice little things for you. And then obviously someone who you can depend on to not ditch you.

"Because I am quite a big character and quite loud," she explained, "they would have to be as loud, if not more. I could never be with someone who is quiet. Someone that gives you a bit back," she said.

Toby Aromolaran, 22, Essex

Toby Aromolaran. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

Semi-pro footballer Toby has never been in a relationship.

He's played football since he was six and is currently playing for a team called Hashtag United, which, as the name would suggest, is very social media-focussed. "Everything is on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. Playing with them has really made me fall in love with the game again," he said.

Talking about why he's gone on Love Island, he said "If Love Island can't find me a relationship, then no one can."

Let's hope his dream girl is in there.

Faye Winter, 26, Devon

Faye Winter. Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox (
ITV)

"In the last year we haven't been able to experience anything. I'm open to anything," said lettings manager, Faye.

She loves her job so much, she's said even with the fame and fortune Love Island brings, she would go back to it and has taken a sabbatical for now.

Faye's ambitions for the next five years include owning an estate agents or a charity shop. In terms of relationships, she said: "I want someone who I can go on holidays and stuff with for the next couple of years, and have a really fun time. And then start thinking about kids and serious things in three or four years' time."

Love Island bombshells

As Shannon left the villa during the third episode, two new bombshells were teased. And they've already got their eyes on some of the girls.

Liam Reardon, 21, Wales

Liam Reardon is a bricklayer with ambitions to move into property development one day.

He's looking for love after not having a girlfriend for a couple of years and he thinks either Kaz or Chloe could fit the bill.

"I think Kaz is really good looking and has a great personality. I'm looking forward to getting to know her," he said. "And Chloe - I like her confidence and I'm intrigued to see what she's about."

Liam Reardon Love Island (

Chuggs Wallis, 23, Surrey

Booby Hats owner, Chuggs, is looking to start living life to the full again after lockdown ruined his final year of University.

When asked what he thought of the lads in the Villa so far, he said: "I think key competition is Brad, but I also think I'll get on with him." That couldn't have anything to do with the fact that you've got your eyes on his partner would it Chuggs?

"That Jake guy seems pretty funny, he looks jokes," he said.

Going into the Villa, Chuggs hopes to get to know Faye, Liberty and Chloe.

Rachel Finni, 29, London

Rachel's no stranger to living it up in the sun - as it's literally her job. She's a luxury travel specialist from London who books holidays for the rich and famous. And you can't promote a place you've never been to, can you? So she gets to try out all of these fabulous trips in order to sell them.

Rachel Finni Love Island (
ITV)

When asked who her type on paper is, she said:

"Aaron is very attractive and seems down to earth. Our jobs are similar so I think we'd have interesting conversations.

"Hugo seems like boyfriend material - handsome, charming - and I'd like to crack his shell a bit more.

"And Toby - he's attractive, cheeky. I'd definitely have a lot of fun with him but I need to see if he's worth pursuing."

Lucinda Strafford, 21, Brighton

Bombshell Lucinda Strafford is Brad's type on paper. She's the ex-girlfriend of footballer Aaron Connolly - and it looks like Brad is a little bit of her too.

Lucinda Strafford Love Island (
ITV)

"I really fancy Brad," she said, when asked who she has her eyes on in the villa. "And then possibly Liam. But obviously I'm open to getting to know any of the other boys.

"I feel like Brad probably doesn't like people as much as he's letting on."

Millie Court, 24, Essex

Millie Court forms part of an elite Essex club in the villa, which so far consists of Kaz and Toby. Like Kaz, Millie also works in fashion as a buyer's administrator.

Millie Court Love Island (
ITV)

When asked who floats her boat, she said:

"Liam is the type of guy that I normally go for, I love how tall he is," she said. "Toby has a cute personality and I think he'll make me laugh. Brad has stunning blue eyes and an amazing body and a banging tan!"

Millis also admitted she's extremely competitive. "I definitely am competitive. I'm the worst competitive person as well because I'm a sulker if I don't win," she said. "I get the hump if I'm losing."

Teddy Soares, 26, Manchester

Senior financial consultant Teddy from Manchester says he's a relationship kind of guy and is looking for something permanent in the villa.

Teddy Soares Love Island (
ITV)

Living up to his name, Teddy says he's "cuddly" and "caring."

He added: "all my friends, when they have an issue, they call me and confide in me. I'm always that person to lean on."

When asked which of the stunning Love Island girls might be his type on paper, Teddy kept his cards close to his chest.

"I want to get to know all of the girls. I'm not afraid to step on toes to get the girl I want," he said. Smart.

AJ Bunker, 28, Hertfordshire

Andrea Jane - aka AJ - is looking for somebody to travel the world with.

AJ Bunker Love Island (
ITV)

She's a hair extension technician from Hertfordshire, who is described by her friends as "the life of the party.

"I can be a little bit savage because I say it as it is. My girls call me savage all the time," she said.

"But I've got the biggest heart and I'll do anything for my friends and family. And I would definitely say I'm confident as well. My girls also say I'm indecisive and impatient!"

She said she respects the girl code but also won't hold back if there's a man she likes in the villa.

Danny Bibby, 25, Wigan

25-year-old Danny has his eye on three Islanders - Kaz, Sharon and Lucinda.

He's likely to ruffle some feathers as he enters the villa hoping to be the alpha male the boys need. He said: "The guys need an alpha male and I feel like that's me. The girls have Faye who says it how it is but the lads are all like little sheep. There is no way I would have sat back and let Hugo cry."

Danny Bibby Love Island (
ITV)

As you can see in the photo, Danny has got quite the collection of tattoos - what do they all mean?

"Some are quotes which inspire me every day," he said. "I've got my clothing brand logo so I can see it every day. That motivates me to keep doing it. I've got 13 which is my lucky number."

Abigail Rawlings, 27, Bournemouth

Tattoo artist, Abigail admits to being a "relationship girl" and she's on the prowl for something special in the villa.

Abigail Rawlings Love Island (

Watch out Chloe, She's pledged to "steal Toby from Chloe at the first chance."

Abigail has lots of tats herself and she's even got a portrait of her dog inked on her. She said: "I've got loads of little stamps on my ankle of things which are memories of things that have happened in my life where I want to dedicate the moment." Who knows, there could be a Love Islander's name on there one day?

Tyler Cruickshank, 26, Croydon

Estate agent Tyler has been single for three years. He said he's looking forward to the challenges Love Island will bring as he competes to win the girl of his dreams (not to mention a £50,000 cash prize to spend with her).

Tyler Cruickshank Love Island (
ITV)

He said: "I kind of miss having somewhere there. [Love Island] is a good opportunity to find someone. I'm really competitive so the challenge aspect I do like. I want to get out there in my shorts and show my abs."

Tyler's got his eyes on Kaz, who "has so much energy about her" and Faye, because "she's a fiery-ish sort of character."

Georgia Townend, 28, Essex

Marketing executive Georgia joins the Essex crew in the villa and she's got her eyes on Hugo.

Georgia Townend Love Island (
ITV)

"Hugo, he is my absolute number one and I can't wait to get to know him," she said. "Also, I love Teddy's charm and charisma. I also like Aaron."

Georgia admitted she's been single for five years and has had some dating disasters during that time.

She said: "I went to a restaurant with a boy and when I went to the bathroom, the waitress told me that he'd already been in there with two other girls, two times in that week. I was like, 'Wow, OK!' But also, he was obviously just trying to be efficient about things." Yikes!

But whoever she picks, she said: "I don't want someone that is really vacuous and isn't aware of what's going on in the world."
