Friends: The Reunion airs on Sky at 8pm in the UK and on Now TV. For US fans, it's on HBO Max.

We're counting down the hours until Friends: The Reunion appears on our screens tonight - and we're betting that you are too.

But what exactly does this long-anticipated episode entail? Are the cast members getting back together for a reboot of the 90s series - like Sex and the City: And Just Like That? Or is it a one-off?

The emotional trailer for the reunion left fans in tears. Take a look below.

Is Friends: The Reunion an actual episode?

Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc are gathering once again in Monica's apartment to talk about the show's highlights (there's plenty to choose from).

However, this show isn't an "actual" episode and there aren't currently any plans to start making Friends again. If you ask me, that's probably a good thing as reboots can run the risk of ruining the original show. As sad as it is, it's probably best we let the past lie.

So, what is Friends: The Reunion about?

The unscripted episode will see the gang reenact the famous series 4 quiz which cost Monica and Rachel their apartment.

In the lead up to the show, Courtney Cox, who played Monica, revealed that her favourite scene of all time was the one where Monica and Ross were invited to dance on the set of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Joey and his girlfriend Janine.

It's likely the other cast members will talk about their favourite scenes and episodes as well as revealing lots of juicy behind-the-scenes stories.

Maggie Wheeler, who plays Chandler's ex-girlfriend Janice, is among the 18 celebrities making cameo appearances on the show alongside the original six. Tom Selleck, who played Richard (Monica's ex) will also feature in the reunion episode.

We've also got Monica and Ross's parents, played by Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles and James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther.

There's also a whole host of non-cast members making celebrity appearances; among them is David Beckham.
