"Social media can be really frustrating. But after seeing the comments about people questioning my parenting and assuming I slammed a door in a fit of rage… absolutely not," she said.

"I simply closed the door. That is literally what happened. I know I will never be able to please everyone and people will be ugly to be ugly… and for those people all I can do is pray for them."

While another commented: "It's a sad world we live in that you have to try to explain an unfortunate accident."

Speaking about what had happened, Alexa explained that Kingston's middle finger 'took the brunt of it' and 'was severed from the first knuckle near the tip'.

She later explained Kingston was doing well, taking to her social media to share another video. She said: "Hi friends, by now a lot of you know we had a really crazy Friday night and it was a pretty bad accident with Kingston.

"But I wanted to make you a little video to show you that little man is doing great... we're so thankful for all of your prayers."

"It took a minute for all of us to process what happened. If anything it made us all love each other even more and humbled us completely. Thankfully, Kingston is already doing flips like nothing happened. Gosh I love my babies!" She said.

Aw, we're wishing Kingston a speedy recovery!
