Fans Accuse Ellen DeGeneres Of Subtle Dig At Meghan Markle In New Interview

Fans Accuse Ellen DeGeneres Of Subtle Dig At Meghan Markle In New Interview

The Duchess of Sussex will be appearing on the American talk show later this week.

Meghan Markle will be returning to the spotlight this week, as the Duchess of Sussex will be appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The interview marks Meghan’s first interview with a talk show host since her bombshell discussion with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, in which she talked about feeling suicidal while a part of the British royal family.

While the full interview will be aired tomorrow (Thursday), we have got a little teaser of what to expect when Meghan sits down with Ellen - with some fans believing that the talk show host may have aimed a few barbed comments at Meghan.

Watch the clip below.

The chat begins with Meghan recalling how she used to visit the Warner Bros. studios, where they film the Ellen show, a lot in the earlier stages of her career.

“I would park at Gate Three and scoot on over,” Meghan explains. “What was so nice is the security guards here would always say, ‘Break a leg! We hope you get it.’”

Smiling at how her life has changed since she married Prince Harry back in 2018, Meghan added: “So to drive in today was very different.”

However, Ellen’s response may have raised a few eyebrows, as she appeared to make a dig at Meghan’s acting prowess.

“You auditioned that often that they knew you to say’ break a leg?’” Ellen replied.

Some fans believed this was the talk show host, 63, throwing shade at her guest, with one person writing on Twitter: “Did no one else notice the burn? ‘You auditioned so often that the security guards who start wishing you luck?’”

Others agreed, with one person responding: “M slipped up there!”

However, others pointed out that actors auditioning is standard practise in that industry.

“It’s a fact of life when you are in that business, you clown!” one person replied. “You can literally audition every day.”

However, most people were thrilled to see Meghan back on their televisions again.

“I’m so glad she can go back to doing what she had been doing before she married,” one person said. “I enjoyed seeing her make her rounds on the daytime and late night shows.”

“Can’t wait to watch this,” said a second. “She is glowing!”

The full interview will air on Thursday at 3pm EST/12PT on NBC.
