Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have announced they have split up after two years together, leading many fans to feel heartbroken as well.
In a statement posted onto their Instagram stories, the pair said: "Hey guys, we've decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever."
They also assured fans that they would "continue to be best friends".
The two singers first made waves as a partnership when they collaborated on the song 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' back in 2015. But it was when the two sang together again on the hit single 'Señorita', that fans got to see their chemistry in action in the music video and confirmed their IRL relationship.

Fans have taken to social media to share their heartache as well at the news.
One person took to Twitter to say: "Actually devastated and heartbroken hearing the news about Shawn and Camila."
Someone else struggled to find the words over how they felt: "I still can't believe that shawn and camila are over. they were each other's person. oh god."
Another fan shared their admiration for the relationship: "Camila and Shawn brought up the best in each other. I deeply admired their relationship and I'm really sad they couldn't make it last."

There were fans who were keeping in mind Shawn and Camila's current wellbeing too: "at the end of the day I hope camila is doing well and not super heartbroken. Shawn too of course."
