Beyoncé Only Follows One Person On Instagram

And now the pair have upgraded their status by mutually following each other on the picture sharing app.

So, what took the Carters so long to follow each other, you ask?

Rapper, businessman and record company exec Jay Z signed up to the social media platform on Tuesday (2nd November) to promote his upcoming Netflix film The Harder They Fall. 

Unlike his hugely popular wife who has ventured into the world of acting, Jay-Z serves only as producer of the film as well as contributing to its soundtrack. His first post was the film’s poster and title as the caption.

The Harder They Fall is a western film which tells a fictional story inspired by real-life black cowboys from American history.

Idris Elba stars as outlaw Rufus Black and the cast also includes Regina King as Treacherous Trudy Smith, Jonathan Majors as Nat Love and Zazie Beetz as Stagecoach Mary.

In just a few hours, the ‘Empire State of Mind’ rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has accumulated more than 1.8 million followers, which should come as no surprise.

However, Beyoncé has a whopping 216 million followers. Maybe she’ll give her hubby some tips on how to increase his numbers.

While Jay-Z only recently made is own Instagram solo debut, he has often been featured in his wife's opulent snaps on her own page.

In September, Beyoncé posted a gorgeous photo with her husband and fans were immediately speculating that the couple were pregnant.

The photo sees Jay-Z wrapping his arms around Beyonce's midriff and kissing her neck while Beyonce leans back against him and cradles her stomach with her hands on top of his hands.

However representatives for Beyonce confirmed it was not a pregnancy announcement and was meant to promote their cover of 'Moon River' for Tiffany & Co's new campaign.

"It is a beautiful photo from the campaign with Tiffany's. That is all," they said.
