Easy On Me: Adele Fans In Tears Over Heartbreaking Line In New Song

The singer has returned after five years away.

Adele is back with a bang, with the legendary singer dropping her latest single, Easy On Me, after five years out the spotlight.

The 33-year-old is releasing her hotly-anticipated new album, 30, later this month – and fans are already losing it after hearing her latest track.

Easy On Me sees Adele singing about being vulnerable, and asking her partner to go ‘easy’ on her. There are also thought to be references to her divorce from husband Simon Konecki in 2019; Adele sings about how she and her partner were “stuck” in their ways and how she tried “hard” to make their relationship work, but at some point, she has to “give up.”

“When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways / You can’t deny how hard I’ve tried / I’ve changed who I was to put you both first/ But now I givе up,” she croons.

Naturally, fans are lapping up Adele’s new music – having longed for her new sound since her last single in 2016.

And it wouldn’t be a love-in for Adele without some tears, now, would it?

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Adele already making everyone cry over a divorce they've never had.”

Sometimes it's fine for an artist to just sing about their experiences with a piano. Very few modern artists can do that. Adele's themes resonate every time and all we want is to cry while listening,” said a second.

A third wrote: “Adele has done it yet again thank you queen for making cry early in the morning,” while a fourth said: “Okay so Adele dropped, gonna have a good cry now.”

Pass the tissues, it’s going to be an emosh morning…

Adele's latest album will mostly be about her split, which she opened up about in her recent cover interview with Vogue magazine.

"It just wasn’t… It just wasn’t right for me any more," she explained. I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew. I wasn’t miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first."
