Treating yourself to a fresh new look for summer is something we've all done, but one woman has shared the before and after from her trip to the hair salon that left her with a nightmarish hairstyle far from what she had hoped for.
TikTok user Jackie - who posts with the user name @itsjayonce222 - responded to a viral challenge on the video sharing app, asking users to respond with the "worst thing" a salon has ever done to them.

Jackie's video begins with a photo of her healthy-looking, dyed hair before her trip to the salon. “So this is how I started out, super cute… overall, I think it was pretty cute. I really, really liked it, just wanted to go lighter for summer,” she said.

She then explains the hairstyle she wanted but the memories of the hair fail are still very raw. She adds: "Just a little bit lighter — sorry if my voice is cracking, but I’m literally starting to cry thinking about this.”
She then showed viewers a picture of the hairdo she requested, which is an ashy blonde long bob somewhat similar to her previous hairstyle. Jackie then left viewers in utter shock and disbelief when she revealed the look she ended up after being treated for eight hours in the salon.
The unfortunate 'do was lighter than her previous look and blonde just like in the picture, but that's where the similarities end. Jackie was left with a damaged bleached blonde hair.

“Omg she fried your hair," wrote one concerned commenter.
Other users pointed out that the stylist should have taken extra precautions because Jackie’s hair was already processed. One user said to the people defending the stylist in the comment sections: “Not the stylist should’ve looked at her hair and told her it’s over processed already and it will be fried.
While another TikTok user said: “Your hair was obviously processed when you walked in so why they didn’t test strand, idk.”

A hair stylist in the comments shared: “So sorry. Been doing hair 20 yrs- she should have warned you about lightening previously lightened hair. It usually ends up fried.”
