We're forever hunting for the perfect Instagram backdrop. Whether it's a graffiti wall or floral backdrop, it's a fun way of injecting something extra into our photos.
Whether its spring's pastel peonies, autumn's pumpkins or late summer's purple-hued lavender, there's always somewhere fit for the 'gram.
And, just in time for our next lot of socially-distanced photoshoots, a lavender farm south of London has opened up its fields.

Mayfield Lavender has opened for summer and we can't wait to set foot there.
The 25-acre lavender farm can be found in Banstead, Surrey, about 15 miles from central London.
According to the lavender farm's website, "you can wander through a sea of beautiful organic lavender" while there. Sounds bliss!

And peak time is now apparently, so best get planning for your trip.
The farm actively encourages non-commercial photoshoots and even holds an annual competition for visitors to enter, with a £200 prize, but are keen to stress the competition is just for fun - so don't get too carried away with it.
If you're peckish while at the farm, freshly made sandwiches, cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks are available for takeaway at the on-site café. We like the sound of their lavender cider ourselves.

Before you head off, why not visit the farm shop, where you can pick up your own lavender plant, or treat yourself to any number of lavender toiletries and foodie treats, as well as fresh bunches of the calming plant?
Mayfield lavender farm is open seven days a week until the end of August and entry costs just £4 per person.
Be warned though, the farm can get very busy at weekends, so visitors are encouraged to book a weekday visit if they can.
