Here's how you can make your own, too.

Whether it's super extra trees or an elf on the shelf, it always feels like there's another festive trend to keep up with every year.

But if there's just one you should actually take notice of this festive season, make it this one: Christmas eve boxes are growing in popularity, and it's easy to see why as they are so sweet.

Apparently, the trend comes all the way from America but is based on European gifting tradition, as many countries actually exchange presents on Christmas eve.

The premise is simple - fill a personalised box with goodies which the recipient can enjoy on Christmas eve. You can also do it super cheaply as it doesn't have to cost the earth.

Start by choosing a box to fill. Whether you choose a wooden box or jazz up a cardboard one using festive wrapping paper, you can still achieve a gorgeous effect.

When it comes to presents inside, a pair of cosy pyjamas to snuggle up in as you wait for Santa is always a good idea.

We love these traditional-style ones from ASOS covered in Brussels sprouts, coming in regular, petite and tall fit for £28.

Of course, no lounge wear is complete without a pair of socks to keep your toes toasty, and Urban Outfitters' slipper socks are just the ticket.

You can choose from grey, blue, pink and black, all priced at £12.

A gorgeously rich hot chocolate won't go amiss either, like this white one Whittard for £7 - add a mini bottle of Irish cream liqueur for extra grown-up indulgence.

Pop a festive bath bomb in the box so your recipient can relax in the tub before Christmas rush on the big day itself, like this limited edition one from Lush for £3.99.

You can pick up a classic festive flick on DVD like The Holiday or Love Actually for a little bit of Christmas entertainment for the box, too.

Sneak in some delicious Christmas treats - maybe a box of Aldi's salted caramel mince pies or a posh box of Hotel Chocolat'.

And finally, finish off the box with festive-scented candle, like Yankee's candy cane forest for £9.

Of course, every member of the family can get a Christmas eve box, just personalise the gifts to each recipient.
