Dog Sitter Turns Down Job Due To Owner's List Of Rules

Dog Sitter Turns Down Job Due To Owner's List Of Rules

These are rather shocking!

A dog sitter was forced to turn down a job after the pup's owner sent her a list of pretty shocking demands.

Sharing screengrabs of a message exchange on Imgur, the dog sitter explained: "Rude lady wants me to watch her diabetic dog for basically nothing."

In the grabs, the sitter begins by introducing herself, confirming dates and availability and checking the woman's location.

Things then turn a little frosty when the woman says: "Before we move any further with booking, I want to make some things abundantly clear (because the last few sitters let me down).

"1. I will pay you 110 for your services. I will not negotiate. You are there to make sure Junie is fed, watered and medicated. That is a fair price.

"2. You are to be there 90 per cent of the time. Last year our AC went out while the girl was at work and we lost two rabbits because she was not there.

"3. Any emergencies you will pay for out of your pocket. You are in charge of taking care of Junie and if anything should happen under your supervision IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

"4. Yes we do have cameras and check them frequently. No friends over, parties, or anything of the like.

"5. Keep your phone on loud. I cannot stress how much anxiety I get when I call to check on her and I do not get a response.

"And finally 6. You will be paid in full approximately 24 hours after I return. I will make sure Junie isn't showing any anxiety etc before I write the cheque. Are we clear?"

Naturally, the dog sitter turned down the job, and received a pretty rude response from the owner who said she 'didn't want her services'. Yikes.

Others were gobsmacked by the message exchange, with one person commenting: "9 days, 21.6 hours there per day, so, about $0.56 (41p) per hour! Why on Earth did that woman turn down the job???"

Meanwhile another said: "I'm paying $25/day (£18) for drop ins (cats), and have a credit card/treatment authorisation on file with my vet. This owner is nuts."

And a third added: "As a previous animal sitter most of those demands are way out of line."

"She's not looking for dog sitting services. She's looking for someone to exploit," added a fourth.

These demands are pretty shocking! What would you do?
