Zootopia is being turned into a TV series on Disney+, it has now been confirmed.
The news was confirmed by Jennifer Lee, Disney's Chief Creative Officer, at the Walt Disney Company's 2020 Investors Day event last week.
She revealed the new launch would be one of Disney Animation's first ever animated series, alongside the likes of Big Hero 6, Baymax and the Princess and the Frog.

Directed by Trent Correy and Josie Trinidad, the series will focus on minor characters Fru Fru - Gazelle's tiger backing dancers - and Flash the sloth, giving them their time in the spotlight.
For those that need a reminder, Zootopia centres around a city where animals rule the roost.
The movie's official synopsis reads: "From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive.

"When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law.
"Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a wily fox who makes her job even harder."
Zootopia first hit screens at the Brussels Animation Film Festival all the way back in 2016 before becoming a box office success, and grossing over $1 billion worldwide.

As well as amassing a cult following, it drew in some great reviews from critics too, who priased its screenplay, animation and musical score.
While we don't know much else about the new TV series yet, it comes as fans have long been wondering if another film would drop.
The new TV series is expected to land in 2022, so there's a bit of a wait to go.
