Fans of the Royal Family have described Prince Harry as a 'disgrace' for failing to sing 'God Save The King' at his dad's coronation.

Harry joined his brother, Prince William, and other members of the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey today (6 May) to witness the crowning of King Charles III.

Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, opted not to attend and to instead remain at the couple's California home with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Since the proceedings began this morning viewers have heard numerous renditions of the UK's national anthem 'God Save The King', with both choir members and most of the attendees at the event belting out the lyrics in honour of Charles.

Most - but not all.

TV coverage of the day appeared to show Prince Harry keeping quiet while the song played out - a move which prompted a lot of criticism from fans of the monarchy.

"Andddd Harry isn’t singing God Save the King. Brat," one viewer wrote, while another commented: "Harry not singing the National Anthem. What a disgrace."

"Harry is an abject disgrace ... a self pity and narcissistic abomination, really," a third said.

Royal fans criticised Harry for failing to sing the national anthem.

Though Harry didn't appear to sing the national anthem, he was seen at the coronation speaking along with other attendees as they said: "God save King Charles. Long live King Charles. May the King live forever.”

At times, Harry was blocked altogether from cameras by a feather protruding from a hat worn by Princess Anne.

Coronation celebrations are set to continue across the weekend, but it's thought Harry was only set to attend the ceremony at the Abbey before returning to the US.

Harry's appearance at the event came after he stepped back as a working royal in 2020 and went on to release his memoir, Spare, in which he was critical of his father and his stepmother, Queen Camilla.

One excerpt from the book saw Harry recall a 'joke' from his father, claiming he said: “Who knows if I’m even your real father? Maybe your real father is in Broadmoor, darling boy!'"

Harry continued: “He’d laugh and laugh, though it was a remarkably unfunny joke.”

Harry entered Westminster Abbey today among a group of junior royals and took a seat two rows behind his brother Prince William, who attended the event with his wife, Kate Middleton, and kids.

Although he is no longer a working royal, the 38-year-old is still in line to the throne. His position falls fifth in line, behind William and his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Harry's own children are sixth and seventh in line.
