While there are no hard and fast rules, wedding planning website Hitched has said you can start by avoiding these dreaded dates like the plague.

Friday the 13th falls in September and December in 2024, June in 2025 and February, March and November in 2026.
And, unless you want guests taking sneaky peaks at the phones as you walk down the aisle, you might also want to avoid booking your wedding on a day that clashes with a big sporting event.
Some massive sporting occasions happening in the next few years include the Euros (14 June - 14 July 2024), Summer Olympics (26 July - 11 August 2024), Winter Olympics (6 February - 22 February 2026) and the FIFA World Cup (11 June - 19 July 2026).

On top of this, the more spiritual couples among us will be interested to know the worst dates to get married according to astrology.
Celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman said: "The solar eclipse of 8 April 2024 is not the best time to get hitched. Eclipses are rare, so the day would be special, but they have also been associated with misfortune in history, so why take the chance?"
And, on 6 December 2024, Mercury (the planet of communication) is in retrograde, so there could be communication issues in the impending marriage.
As for 2025, Mercury and Venus are both in retrograde on 25 March, meaning potenital struggles in both communication and love, and on 7 September there is a lunar eclipse.

"It is also the day that Uranus, planet of chaos goes retrograde," Inbaal explained. "Who wants chaos on their wedding day?"
As we look even further into the future, Inbaal said: "12 August 2026 brings a total eclipse of the Sun and is a date best avoided when tying the knot if you want your marriage to flourish." Solar eclipses have previously been associated with secrets and lies.
And, 25 October 2026 brings about a combination of situations which are best to be avoided.

"Venus, planet of love and beauty, has gone retrograde a few days earlier and is in secret-loving Scorpio. So Venus is not playing nicely, and on the 25th it is joined by Mercury," Inbaal added.
"The Sun is in Scorpio too, and even though Scorpio is a passionate and caring sign, it’s not the right sign to marry under due to its love of secrecy."
Then again, it's all down to personal preference so you just do you!
